John is a longtime resident of the District of Columbia and has spent most of his life in public service. John was appointed to work in Councilmember Bonds office in February 2022, and currently serves as the Director of Constituent Services, in this roll he navigates the district government to resolve issues on behalf of residents and local business owners. 

 

He organizes events and engages with ANCs and neighborhood civic organizations. John began his political activities when he was elected in 1992 to ANC 2C, serving until his appointment with the Barry Administration in 1994, serving as the Ward 2 Liaison in the Mayor’s Office of the Ombudsman - Constituent Services. He was re-appointed to this position during the Williams, Gray and Bowser Administrations. 

 

John was elected again in 2011 to ANC 2F, representing Single Member District 2F-04. In 2014 he was elected Chair of the Commission, serving until 2021. John was elected in 2016 as a District of Columbia, Delegate to the National Democratic Convention, Philadelphia, PA. He was elected to the District of Columbia Democratic State Committee as the Ward 2 Committeeman for two consecutive terms 2018-2022. John has been an active member of the Gertrude Stein Democratic Club - Capital Stonewall Democrats since 1992, and the DC Latino Caucus.
